Description: Position Title: Grant Writer
Purpose: We have a very lean team of 2 ½ full-time employees, and we’re working with 8 school districts and hundreds of churches to mobilize and equip more churches to serve our local schools in ways that make a positive impact. We would love to be able to involve the Greater Houston community in our work so that we can equip more churches to serve. A Grant Writer would not only help us receive funding to continue operations, but would give our 2 ½ employees more time to focus on deepening and leveraging the relationships we’ve been building with churches and church networks across the city.
Responsibilities and Duties: Pull together and write content for Loving Houston’s grant applications
Qualifications: Ability to write clearly. Attention to detail. A strong belief in the calling of churches to serve their local communities by volunteering in local schools (or a willingness to find out more about this). A basic understanding of nonprofits, grant-writing, and fundraising would be preferred but not required.
Commitment Expected: Approximately 5 hours/week depending on the number of grants to be submitted that week. Through December 2016. This person can work remotely and interact with our Executive Chairman about the specific details via phone and email as necessary.

Description: Position Title: Collector/Writer of Stories
Purpose: We have a very lean team of 2 ½ full-time employees, and we’re working with 8 school districts and hundreds of churches to mobilize and equip more churches to serve our local schools in ways that make a positive impact. We would love to be able to involve the Greater Houston community in our work so that we can equip more churches to serve. Someone who can help us capture and write stories of the church-school partnerships that we know about would help inspire even more churches to step up and serve, and give ideas to churches that are already serving about other ways they can help or ways they can improve their own partnerships.
Responsibilities and Duties: Connect with church-school partnership leaders we know about, ask them about their partnership stories, and write up the stories so we can include them in e-newsletters, on our blog, and in social media posts: http://bit.do/LHEmailArchive, http://lovinghouston.net/loving-houston-blog/, http://twitter.com/lovinghouston, http://facebook.com/lovinghouston. Optional: Visit the partnership to take pictures (or ask the partnership leader for pictures).
Qualifications: Ability to capture and write stories in a compelling manner. A strong belief in the calling of churches to serve their local communities by volunteering in local schools (or a willingness to find out more about this). A photography/graphic design background would be nice but not required.
Commitment Expected: Approximately 5 hours/week. Through December 2016. This person can work remotely and interact with our Communications Manager about the specific details via phone and email as necessary.

Description: Position Title: Financial Guru

We would love to be able to involve the Greater Houston community in our work so that we can equip more churches to serve. Someone who can help us with our quarterly and year-end financial reports would give our 2 ½ employees more time to focus on deepening and leveraging the relationships we’ve been building with churches and church networks across the city.
Responsibilities and Duties: Put together our quarterly financial reports for our Board Meetings and year-end reports.
Qualifications: Financial background. Attention to detail.
Commitment Expected: Approximately 5 hours/quarter. Through December 2016. This person can work remotely and interact with our Operations Manager about the specific details via phone and email as necessary.

Description: Position Title: HR Guru
Purpose: We have a very lean team of 2 ½ full-time employees, and we’re working with 8 school districts and hundreds of churches to mobilize and equip more churches to serve our local schools in ways that make a positive impact. We would love to be able to involve the Greater Houston community in our work so that we can equip more churches to serve. Someone who can help us with our ongoing HR administrative responsibilities (401K, payroll, etc.) would give our 2 ½ employees more time to focus on deepening and leveraging the relationships we’ve been building with churches and church networks across the city.
Responsibilities and Duties: Keep track of and administer details of our 401K, benefits, payroll.
Qualifications: HR background. Attention to detail.

Description: Position Title: Event Manager
Purpose: We have a very lean team of 2 ½ full-time employees, and we’re working with 8 school districts and hundreds of churches to mobilize and equip more churches to serve our local schools in ways that make a positive impact. We would love to be able to involve the Greater Houston community in our work so that we can equip more churches to serve. Someone who can help us with the logistics of our Equipping Sessions would give our 2 ½ employees more time to focus on deepening and leveraging the relationships we’ve been building with churches and church networks across the city.
Responsibilities and Duties: Manage the logistics of each Equipping Session (track RSVPs, coordinate food and venue details, prepare folders for participants, manage communications with presenters, create and manage sign-in sheets, input evaluation responses)
Qualifications: Attention to detail. Event/project management experience preferred but not required.
Commitment Expected: Approximately 10-15/hours per Equipping Session. Through December 2016. This person can work remotely other than the day of the Equipping Session and interact with our Operations Manager about the specific details via phone and email as necessary.

Description: Position Title: Graphic Designer

We would love to be able to involve the Greater Houston community in our work so that we can equip more churches to serve. Someone who can help us design more training and communication materials for our church-school partnership leaders would be so valuable for the replicability and sustainability of church-school partnerships across Greater Houston.
Responsibilities and Duties: Take the content of our training modules and create graphical, downloadable files or infographics for new and experienced church-school partnership leaders. Create social media graphics to share these tips and best practices with our network of leaders and beyond. (Optional: Update the design of our website to allow for ease of use by our church-school partnership leaders.)
Qualifications: Graphic design experience. A strong belief in the calling of churches to serve their local communities by volunteering in local schools (or a willingness to find out more about this).
